# Dependencies
Please come to the hackyhour with a working `python` (version 3.0 or higher) installation. To test yourself, if that works on your laptop, do the following:
1. Open a command line terminal
2. Type
``` {bash}
$ python3 --version
```
3. Check that the output is
``` {bash}
$ python3 --version
Python 3.6.3
```
For the last half of the hackyhour you will need to have [py.test](https://docs.pytest.org/en/latest/) installed. There are several ways [to install it](https://docs.pytest.org/en/latest/getting-started.html). I recommend `pip3`.
``` bash
$ pip3 install pytest --user
```
This way, you should not need administrator permissions.
